History

Securlogic shares a warm story of a passion that grew into a business.

Since 1997, Securlogic's CEO Justin Lee has been expressing keen interests in technology, particularly with the development of Linux. While his peers were still using the Windows 95 operating system, he decided to forgo Windows and embarked on a journey with Linux instead.

As soon as Justin completed his Secondary (High School) education, friends and families started approaching him for help with computer-related issues. He earned extra pocket money as a door-to-door computer technician. As his contacts grew, Justin was also asked to take on small web development and systems integration projects.

During the .COM boom in the early 2000's, Justin ran a small web hosting server to help several small business build their Internet presence. He also provided professional consultation services mostly in the area of security and performance tuning, which was in great demand then. Securlogic - a fusion of the words security and logic (of computer algorithms) - was born and was later registered as a sole-proprietor business in 2004 with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA).

With foresight of the blog boom in late 2002, Justin developed O2r Bloggers, a blogging tool with built-in comments - a feature rarely found in the early blog sites. It is now known as QQBlogs. Read its short history here.

In 2006, Securlogic was incorporated into a Private Limited company. Synchronous to this was the launch of Singapore's first gigabyte-scale web hosting service aimed at "prosumers" and SMEs.

Today, Securlogic serves a portfolio of clients from various industries, offering complete end-to-end solutions that help business to grow by leveraging on the power of the Internet and Open Source technologies.
